Difference and Resolution

It is good that there exists “difference” in forms, processes, attitudes, perceptions and so on. What is life, but for this difference in perception? Perception is a connection of different points in vibrations to make force and matter. Or in other words, matter and force (in our case – body and mind) create or informs perception. A body is a perception and so is the mind. Body is gross, whereas mind is more subtle. Thus, whatever we perceive is a gross form of space-time or cause + effect phenomenon. And we respond to our senses that can only detect grosser signals by default. The mind, by concentration, appropriate imagination can take the perception to subtle levels or states and finally experience zero motion or consciousness. As long as we remain in mind and body phenomenon, we perceive existence at gross and subtle levels – all indicating vibrations or identification with motion of some kind. The motion means “difference” in states of perceptions (so difference in thoughts or forms). Everything thinks or perceives – from the tree to the cat to the person to the moon. Everything affects everything else. So a change in our state of thinking can change the form of the universe itself. The mode to bring about a change in our mind state is by “struggle” or to resolve the apparent differences and to reach a state of no motion. The moment there is no motion, there is no difference and the life as we know it, vanishes or dissolves into consciousness. The struggle to resolve is what we are engaged with. That does NOT mean to wipe out physical differences because that is impossible to expect and that indicates destruction. One is not expecting to flatten differences, but acknowledging the difference as a reality of life, one needs to discover the connecting thread.

Motion also means contradiction in us. Or lost equilibrium. It also means cyclic nature of things, alternating cycles of force and matter and so on. So feelings or intellect cannot go beyond a certain point. Yet there are ways to listen to the Beyond of all manifestations. That is to be realized. My feeling is that the AI is exaggerating the contradiction in us (fragmenting us further/ disconnecting us) by reducing the scale of space-time unit.

Memory also means alternating impressions of bondage and liberation. This means motion of thoughts. Questions that hound the intellect regarding worth or justification are in fact ridiculous. Manifestation and the way we exist is to be seen or felt as a neutral event, not in our hands, not in our control, not to be expected anything from, not to be credited for or judged for or evaluated for. So the perception needs to diminish. We are not governed by nature.

It is good that “Time” is required to realize and become. Realization is NOT an instant noodle business. The subtle and purer the realization, the more difficult the process of becoming. Difficult because of our nature of clinging and to keep getting engrossed in “subjects” as if they mean the world to us. Nonsense. The world is nothing as compared to consciousness. The world is a mere shadow and this requires effort to realize.

It is good that not all things can be spoken or heard or understood or written or expressed or imagined. The Truth exists by itself without any situation or perception or manifestation. Truth can take any form, express in billion ways and keep changing in billion ways. If this is what we are, why to be afraid of anything and hold on to something? We are expression of consciousness and we exist beyond evaluation and we can think and do or feel or work the way it offers us peace. Our real nature is pure and unconstrained. That is where we should reach.

Situation – Perception = Consciousness.

There are countless number of things that require attention....and this list will keep growing. This list will include many things that talk about worry of the past or the future and will involve events, situations, people and so on. The emphasis is on control and this means to be identified with a state of mind that represents a “force” (desire and insecurity or fear). Being human, we call this force by these terms, else some kind of force is present in all the cosmos that creates matter (or is informed by matter) and that perceives other forces.

SO perception or awareness of existence is a result of this force that is present within us. We = perception = force = situation = ego = memory = impulse = compulsion = tendency.

Decoding this further, we come to the basic unit of space that vibrates as a medium to create a wave and a particle – and that leads to all kinds of forms. However, forms are not inert – they are acted on by force and they perceive other forms by the internal force itself. This law applies to us too. Hence, we have taken a form having a “property” (or characteristic) and we think based on the property of mind and body. We “think”, that is we imagine something. We imagine something about compulsions, security, completeness, freedom, and we remain engrossed in the same thoughts and desires which lead to action. I move in some space and in some time. I have a skin, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, tongue and they compel me to respond. I see something like a “tree” or “dog” or “Rohan” or “Esha” and I respond. Why?...

All responses that get conceived are coming from a ‘motion’ of force. This motion is fluid, keeps changing and results in perception or relative knowledge of Nature. This motion is a struggle to be perfect and it either attracts something or repels something else but it constructs me and keeps me bounded in this existence. As long as “me” exists, it is a sign of motion (desire or attachment or clinging or fear) and this motion compels me to do things or take action. Imagination cannot exist without motion. All motions are a sort of struggle to achieve equilibrium. So, the moment I have a thought, it will lead to some action and some output and will have an effect on other forces. There is not a single unit of time, currently, where a thought does not exist.

This is what is called illusion or Maya. Maya is motion and to identify oneself with it. This motion keeps changing and we remain on a roller coaster ride. Maya is an alternating cycles of good and evil; light and dark; sun and the moon; birth and death; young and old; low and high; dessert and paradise. Not one set of conditions stays constant and to ask for security is a misconception. All forms of existence are governed by the Law of Cause and Effect (force and matter) and hence no amount of intellect or feelings or actions can bring about a halt in this Law of Motion. This is what it IS.

The inquiry may be to realize what motion is and what causes it? Motion seems real to us for our state of mind - else, there is absolutely NO motion. The property of motion is to change or keep interacting and hence these forces one sees and responds to. The property of consciousness is beyond Laws of Motion and hence It is stationary, at rest, at peace and unattached to any force or form or event or situation or time or space. What we call as motion and perceive space and time is a different state of consciousness – that seems to change constantly.

Mathematically, how are we to perceive consciousness? This can be stated as:

Situation – Perception = Consciousness.

A motion makes one bounded to a form and makes one perceive reality therefore. I am motion, so I perceive a situation (or generate a situation). If I am consciousness, I am beyond all motion or perception or situation and am unbounded by any form or character.

The cycle of consciousness to manifestation is eternal one. What one exists is just some proportion of consciousness and perception.

Visualization

Not thinking of anything is the best way to live. Thinking is an output of a personal “will” – consciousness having taken the form of a human body and therefore the thoughts getting informed by the constraints/ requirements/ tendency of “vibration” or of identifying one’s existence with mind and body.

As long as this identification exists, we don’t consider the “vibrations” (force) as a tendency, but something that affects us and makes us “believe” or visualize a life. If we are able to realize that consciousness is separate from vibrations, then we remain unaffected by what these vibrations make us do. When I say “we”, I am already influenced by the vibrations and I see the world or the forms as separate from myself – so I am compelled to respond. So I think; I attract vibrations based on the attachment to my own generated desires and those results in some action and the cycle continues. I am compelled to act because for me, the forms and perceptions look extremely real – to the extent that I cannot separate the Self from these experiences formed by mind and body. Although we generally refer to terms as “mind” and “body”, these are just states of manifestations (or consciousness appearing as a human body). In the process of appearance as a human body, the characteristics of consciousness have undergone tremendous transformation. Not only consciousness is seen as a body and mind, but the body or mind also perceives itself and others based on this state of manifestation! Thus, every state of vibration brings in new forms of perception and matter. Thus the effects of vibration (perception/ memory/ identity/ attachment) cannot be separated from how the form seems to appear.

Thus it is said that we are merely reading a book and getting mesmerized in the “story” we have created for ourselves. The story, in abstract terms, is “motion” or “force” that keeps oscillating from consciousness to particle and vice versa.  This oscillation has limitless options to appear and hence there are limitless stories to unfold. All perceptions, tendencies, feelings and intellect are a part of this vibrations. And so is birth and death and any other phenomenon that one wishes to include in this story.

The moment I realize this then I choose to concentrate on motion and what it leads me to do. Then one may realize further, that there are different kinds of motions, different speeds and different scales. When one sees subtle and more subtle and more slower kinds of motions or vibrations, then one inches closer and closer to consciousness. Finally, no motion remains and what is realized is a state of consciousness. This is all “visualization”. I (as a human being) have the ability to actually see or sense these states. What I see right now, is an act of “visualization”. What I hope to see later, will also depend on the power of “visualizations”. This idea is as much applicable to any action, any field, any creative output and any imagination of life.

This consciousness is beyond any motion, so it is beyond any known laws of cause and effect. What is cause and effect anyway? It is all motion. The effect is the cause that has appeared in a different manner. And we ourselves are in a state of motion, so we catch certain causes and hope to act on these, so we create effects. These in turn become causes for us to continue acting and the story continues. We of course die one day, but then what is death anyway? It is nothing but an effect of the cause produced and the cause of death is producing some effect on a new event (a new birth?) later on! So birth and death are just two points in the continuous cause-effect phenomenon. Something “enters” (takes a form and starts to perceive) and something “vanishes” (departs the form and the state of perception) to “something else”…

The above realization should make us aware that situations are upto us to occur. They are “perceived” and hence there is action and reaction (or motion). Another thing to consider here is the construct of “ego” in the form of manifestation and the expectation to control the causes and effects and the expectation to take credit and dismiss discredit – all these indicate “preferences”. The inquiry is: the motion is incidental, so our experiences are incidental – a part of reality. What happens as situations and how we respond have limited effects – there are innumerable forces at play. So whatever happens is the result of consciousness and its manifestations. There is motion and that is what there is. One may choose to get entangled or one may go to the source of the motion. Choice is ours.

The path of philosophy and the path of research

The path of philosophy and the path of research seem to be opposite.

Research is the domain of the intellect primarily – that will use the tool of dissection/ fragmentation/ analysis to understand a phenomenon. In the process, it will discover variables of different scales, intensities, frequencies and discover the relationship of interdependence. The picture that arises is of “complexity”. The next urge that arises is of “controlling these variables” and of “perfection”. The impression that may get created is of dynamism and fluidity and speed. If I ask myself, that does it “solve” a problem, the answer is – No. It only interprets the problem with more nuances. More nuances result in more debate and more discussions and more evaluations and more judgements and a faster changing world of perception. So you know how the cycle is getting generated. Effectively, we lead ourselves to a hyper world of change and argumentation. The kinds of research that seem to be undertaken in the academic world seem to point to this trend or attitude of the mind. Either one discovers greater depth of the phenomenon or a greater breadth of the phenomenon and in either cases, uncertainty (or things one doesn’t know) increase at the same rate. As more variables are discovered, our perception becomes more localized, more refined, more microscopic and more “unique”. What do we achieve by undertaking this path, if what is being discovered is how uniquely has one understood a given situation?

The path of philosophy is meant to dissolve all differences altogether – probably “merge” them or to say that the variables were just “apparent” – like a dream that the mind was conceiving. In other words, all situations are relative to the context, they are based on the same laws of space-time-causation and what we are supposed to realize aren’t distinct situations BUT a common thread that connects everything. This common thread if seeing from different lenses “creates” different situations. The emphasis or the tendency to realize a common thread results in greater empathy and acceptance of diversity. It is the opposite of complexity and may be said to develop an inherent “simplicity” of thought and action.

Philosophically, the notion of “I” causes separation – of situations. The more this “I” is emphasized (as individualism), the more the separation is felt. When the mind expands to dissolve with geography or space-time, then there is no “I”, there is no mind and there is no body. This state is of Consciousness.

Maya

Generally, by writing, one is reminded of things that are important to be practiced and meditated upon. Writing, in some ways, means pushing oneself to think and act in appropriate ways that have very little to do with personal motives of desire or fear or compulsions. This is a conscious effort. Every morning one receives many kinds of thoughts (force/ vibration) - that summarily say that “I am the body and mind, and so I will react based on this awareness”.

The question is – “who” or “what” gives you this awareness of body and mind? Is it a default thing or is it purely incidental (being engrossed in a particular state of vibrations). And if it is just incidental, then are there ‘different’ states of existence? In other words, the life as we know it brings about a strong attachment to mind and body. This happens to such an extent, that we consider everything else different and ourselves as unique creatures and our actions or thoughts reinforce this binary or duality time and again. Never for a second do we ever think of taking a pause and asking the question of consciousness and manifestation. In fact, many people may even have struck the role of consciousness all together!!

Anyway, the inquiry is about the nature of existence. And this inquiry will point to a concept of “Maya”. Some salient features of this nature of existence are:

(1)    We exist as “nature” having laws of space-time-causation. That is, we change, things change, things appear different and there always remains some difference to resolve.

(2)    Nature is motion or fluidness. One thing transforms into another and there is no definite surety to anything or a stop point or a beginning point. What we may feel as opposites or compartments or dimensions or binaries are actually inter related and appear differently to different people or at different times. This means that binaries can’t be resolved by logic or intellect, since the dimension of the mind itself consists of these binaries. I harbour ALL kinds of thoughts in any given instant throughout the day. No matter what I decide or do, I have to resolve the contradictions that I perceive externally and internally.

(3)    This brings us to the point of contradictions. All opposites or binaries or differences are contradictions present within our mind. Since we ourselves are full of contradictions, all the world of names and forms appears so to us.

(4)    This causes us to “run” and resolve all contradictions. This is impossible to do and the chief factor that makes these contradictions is the “force” or “desire” or vibrations that can take any intent and any process and any form.

(5)    The contradiction or differences or binaries or varieties causes “motion” of all sorts. Thus, our state of existence as we perceive it will always remain in motion.

(6)    Motion is in circle. This means that there is no end point or start point or any resolution of forces in a single state at a definite amount of time and at a definite scale of space. There is no linearity or logic to resolve these apparent differences that we perceive and we run and run and realize that all we do is reach the same point.

All above points mean that there can be an approach to know the riddle that we are constructed with. This approach is of concentration of our mind within to know the vibrations, and to make them still. Another way is to concentrate on an idea or an action wherein the motive itself is burnt and what remains is nothing personal but universal. Still another way is to expand the mind through intellect, feelings or actions that do not have any personal motive. Whatever the approaches, the effort is to calm the desires or forces of the mind and reach a state of consciousness that is unbounded.
