परमार्थ

परमार्थ मध्ये अभिमान मिसळला कि तो झाला प्रपंच! प्रपंचामधून अभिमान काढला कि अनुभवायला मिळाला परमार्थ!

This realization is mentioned by Shri Gondawlekar Maharaj. The statement mentions two concepts – consciousness and mixing or reappearance of “intent” to create and experience of “life”. How does this happen and what does this phenomenon mean to us?

Consciousness is felt in physical terms and psychological terms. Vibration of consciousness to appear as wave (force) and particle (matter) represents its physical manifestation into Name and Form. In short, all forms in Universe are acted by Force within themselves and surrounding them. Form is the most gross state of consciousness displaying certain tendencies/ characteristics as compared to a much finer state called as Force. The most subtle state of existence is consciousness itself. In physical terms then, this conversion of consciousness to space-force-matter and vice versa takes place continuously. This leads to physical changes and this also leads to changes in the manner existence by a life form gets perceived.

Perception is a force that results from sensory inputs by the body and their analysis by the intellect. The force or mind exists by creating vibrations in consciousness that firstly appear as subtle waves (present in all life forms) and they coalesce to create large or more dominant waves/ electrical impulses and these get perceived by ‘us’ as “thoughts”.

The question is – that everything so neutral? How do we create a sense of attachment to our own existence and strongly defend this notion? Why do we cling to our notion of existence that is generated from our body? So are we the body or the mind or something else?

Force appears as matter. Force is created from consciousness itself. We perceive this phenomenon as “mind”. Memory therefore gets constructed. Memory is constructed because of the impulse we carry about distinct life forms or distinct objects or matter. All the universe in all different forms or matters exist because we choose to imagine things or respond to things in that manner and because we entertain or receive such signals. So thought is an “impression” we create within ourselves. It leads to a momentum. Further analysis will reveal that momentum or impression is carried through successive rounds of birth and death. The belief in separateness leads to competition or “I am the doer” of everything and I can expect anything in return. This causes insecurity and feeling of incompleteness. As long as this feeling is harboured, we remain rooted to our mind-body experience (in a constrained manner). Any property of force that is introduced in consciousness ends up in some kind of a form/ matter. This imagination of “life” is called clinging and it is constrained by nature and it fuels fear and takes us away from consciousness.

Conversely, by concentrating on consciousness and remembering this dimension and by constant analysis and decoding, a state of consciousness can be reached. Stronger waves of thought need to be subdued till all its energy is spent and a continuous stillness or a gap or zero vibration is realized. The feeling of separation or the doer has dissolved completely. There is no independent doer anymore. The idea of doer has merged with consciousness which has already existed from the beginning. The independent doer existing or perceiving life in an independent form is a state of existence that has limitations and remains is a state of change and fluidness. This can be very disorienting. To anchor one’s self therefore, becoming consciousness is important.
