Shree: mental well being
Shree: mental well being
this has reference to one article that was read in TOI on employees mental well being.
reading the article laid emphasis on qualities of patience, listening despite any content, patience, giving hope, motivation, appreciation and trust.
world as it stands today perhaps is in a grip of crisis of mental health. one can view this state from historical perspective when man decided to become "individual" and having nothing to do with environment or the other life forms or culture or anything for that matter - leading all the way to faster production cycles, refinements, speed, intellectual pursuits, increased competitions, logical mode of thinking, multitasking, evaluation, judgments, aggression and so on. the entire idea of GDP is possible by following above mentioned mental traits. what people do not acknowledge that there is a terrible mental price we pay for operating at such warp speed and to be honest - "speed and efficiency" is not the answer for a satisfying perception of life at all - far from it.
what do we ignore along the way? we ignore the role of feelings and their repercussions on movement, relationships, situations, decisions, considerations, patience, empathy, communication, touch, memory, nourishment, body language, environment, the built mass, pace of life, attitude towards work and so on. aren't these important? that a person or a situation or a place will have layers of memories, past, future, collective, environment, change, loss, regeneration, continuity, adaptability, silence, delight, acceptance, ambiguity, multifunctionality, non competitiveness and so on. a "decision" may not always mean speed or production or output or any other thing - but something else for some reason which is not immediate and not direct and not visible and not immediate at all. GDP may not mean happiness. uniformity of working or communicating for the sake of production or evaluation is self destruction and the only way that "global" consciousness can be achieved is through feelings shared by all. there are many ways to live and all ways have a common thread - this is what feelings make's one perceive - that rigid compartments are not required - what is required is understanding of "all in one and one in all".
