Connections

A particular thing acquires certain meaning (importance/ validity/ existence) for “us” since we choose to create some relation with that object. The ‘relation’ depends on our nature of thoughts – which in turn, depend on the nature of our existence (or our idea of finite existence). Every single moment of our lives are perceived by us depending on this meaning. If there was no meaning, there probably would not exist a ‘life’ for us. Life, for us, is our perception.

There are therefore many things to be noted here:

We keep changing – our thoughts change and so does our relation to the object that we see in front of us. Hence, we perceive and experience objects/ environment/ people/ situations differently in different times of our lives.

The object may have its own consciousness – so it grows and changes with time.

Above two variables of place and time indicate that everything essentially remains in a fluid state. So why do we try to cling to something? Why do we create boundaries? Why do we differentiate? Why do we wish to hoard all the riches to us? Why do we expect people to behave as per our expectations? Why do we keep planning to the last detail, as if we can control everything? Why do we harbor fear at all?

It is futile to hold on to an object/ situation/ person – all change.
It is futile to plan for stability – everything will change
It is futile to cry over something – it was not yours anyways
It is futile to celebrate anything – you can’t own any circumstance
It is futile to run after something – since that is a mirage
It is futile to expect happiness from the environment – that’s a dream
It is futile to be angry, jealous, depressed – they indicate a flimsy self created boundary
It is futile to be aggressive and a go getter – one can’t catch time
It is futile to command thinking – thoughts continue to come and go
It is futile to fear – it is just a false image of self
It is futile to perceive a human existence – since the Void is beyond perception

Having come this far, what then is the approach to live? Should we plan or not plan? Should we suspend our actions or should we be engaged with full force?

We keep doing things, as we think it is important to be done. We live life, since we are required to. We think, because we may comprehend the Unknown someday. We act, but without any clinging effect. We choose to relate to people, but as a temporary arrangement. What we wish to know is the establishment of the Void within and without. There is no stopping from running unless we do this establishment. Every moment offers this opportunity to establish the Unknown everywhere.
