Shree: Mystery
250622: Shree: Mystery
There are many things that I can speak of today –
all by God’s blessings I am sure of it.
Many things are inspired from Dnyaneshwari’s
discourse on Arjun and Krishna.
Seeing God is not an aspect of visible sight or
perception. God is perceived from within – as a state of mind that transforms
into the Infinite One. The mind that we have or perceive currently also
represents a state of manifestation that is dependent on space-time nature (of
change and many and impermanence and interdependence). God is perceived by
alignment and by concentration and through various techniques. By what
technique He reveals Himself is upto the individual phenomenon to discover.
Arjun wished for Vishwarupa Darshan (by visible transformation) and this is
what He received by God’s grace. Other devotees wished for something else, and
He revealed in those various aspects.
Secondly a reference is made to “विचार चक्र”
that generates in Arjun’s mind about how to request Vishwarupa Darshan from the
Lord? This is elaborated in his introspective mind about taking stock of
history of devotees, trying to find out if his request is particular one or had
it been asled before, his intense love for the Lord and where does he position
himself as a devotee in all this, whether the Lord will grant his request and
why should the Lord even acknowledge the request, or why not, and Arjun’s final
determination or decision to nevertheless ask for this request despite any
inevitability and Arjun knowing that there is no looking back….many things are
implied in this – that any decision goes through a series of deliberation,
comparisons, contradictions, dilemmas, our own awareness about the known
factors and finally acting on a decision in the uncompleted state of knowledge.
This may seem quite obvious but people are required to pay heed to this aspect
of mind – that arriving at a decision takes due time and one need not compare
another’s way of arriving at a decision and at the same time need not get
worried in what way things manifest and materialize, for the Lord is the
Ultimate Reality and no matter how much super skilled we may be, we are still a
phenomenon of manifestation that change and dissolve.
Arjuns’ request is granted immediately by the Lord
and then it is again mysterious why the Lord grants Arjun’s request. If I would
have asked, He may not even blinked at me! The Lord takes an Avatar when asked
by His devotees to be their son – so He is born, spends His childhood, becomes
a Friend, becomes a Husband, becomes a Guide and a Philosopher, becomes a Warrior,
Becomes an Ascetic…but He never reveals His Secret to any of His devotees
except for Arjun on request. A lot of meaning is embedded here. A person is required
to “be prepared” for the Lord’s presence, He will reveal when one is prepared,
He will confide His secret in you if you are capable enough to handle it. In
other words, this event speaks as much about Arjun, as it does about the Truth
of the Lord in the form of Krishna.
All things happen for good – it is only a matter of
concentrating on the Lord and realizing that His Will is the ultimate Truth,
not mine or yours. Trust is important. In the journey of attaining the Truth or
becoming the Truth, we perceive different states of mind, numerous thoughts,
from bad to good and all have validity and all need to be accepted without
getting disturbed or distracted. All is motion and hence it implies certain
state of existence. Motion is one form as compared to the other and motion is
manifestation as compared to the stationary Lord. So motion is based on comparison,
separation, difference, clinging, and perception. Hence it is
always relative and steadiness is expected so one can feel and become absolute
stillness. For this self acceptance, love, unconditional existence and
concentration are the key elements. Perhaps they are one and the same but
spoken from different perspectives.
Writing perhaps for me offers this dimension – it becomes
important (for me) to express these thoughts, else the cycle of dilemma cannot
be accepted with peace! In order to consider this existence that is expressed
through me as a gift from the Lord, perhaps it is required of me to keep
writing these thoughts. So be it!
Lastly, a human being cannot, even if he wanted to,
reveal all that he is. Hence to
keep something ambiguous and mysterious is a default dimension of a human being
and that is perfectly ok and this dimension is consciousness Itself
present in all of us. A human being exists because of this mystery and this is
not subjected to any debate. Accept it and trust it for all the Unknown It
represents. This mysterious dimension generates all the tendencies and we
perhaps only need to accept whatever comes from nowhere with complete gratitude
without judging or doubting it. In today’s times when things are compelled to
be made explicit, is this expectation of expllcitness becoming seriously
unrealistic?
