Shree: mindscape, idea diagrams and architecture

Every movement and every theory in academics is representation of a state of mindscape of the society. it may get expressed as an idea diagram that involves time, space, generations, geography, history or culture, climate, activities, change, interdependence, continuity and its expression. previously, probably before industrial times, this process may have been intrinsic or unconsciously done. since the basic experience of mind is integrated with the whole, probably the change of forms or processes may have been seen or felt as transient as compared to the absolute potential that initiates this change. so where is individual memory here and what seems to be the rate of change here?   the stamp of individuality seems blurred or may not be there at all and perhaps all things may have add a spiritual or cosmic or mythical dimension. the physical change then means nothing and change perhaps is seen cyclic or as a repeated or a spiral pattern so one knows one's existential position in the web of life. Indigenous, vernacular and pre industrial architecture falls in this domain.

post industrial architecture, modernity, post modernity seems to deal with the rupture of this relationship and focus on the "individual". perhaps "individual" itself means rupturing from surrounding fabric and i have a feeling that this has occurred. this rupturing happens by sharpening of logic, intellect, analysis and increases production, speed of anything. this has reflected onto increase in documentation, and criticalness of everything and a severe sense of self doubt and craze for perfection and ironing out differences. memory is individually created, there seems to be minimal sharing and associated feelings of timelessness and placelessness occurs. in short, an identity crisis. and its reflection as surveillance, AI, control, critique, self doubt, increased documentation and so on.

there is a sense of "loss" with increase in the rate of change (self created) and the effort is to salvage this loss. this has reached its apex in contemporary times and there seems to be enormous confusion and loss as to hold on  to some guiding post for an anchor. this is the fractured state of mindscape in today's times. this is an irony of so called definition of progress. it is a painful experience since it reveals, again, a full return to the fundamental issues of what makes an anchored experience?

there is no easy answer for this dilemma - since the dilemma is internal and not external. the damage that is done, is too deep (as we realize it now) and hence the approach is to consider the inner world and not the external world.
