Shree: Cause
Shree: Cause
The answer of bliss is not
written outside of us but is inside. Inside is the entire cosmos of
consciousness to vibrations to forces and forms. Form is the end gross product
of subtle vibrations - all coming from One medium, which is the same and
infinite and non changeable and subtle and absolute and unconditional and
complete. We are born as a subset (movement) in this unchanging Oneness. Unless
this movement dies down, the One cannot be seen or one cannot become the One.
Thus the movement has to cease and it can cease since it is untrue or a
construct. It is however easier to say this but difficult to accomplish. This
is so because of the effect that the movement creates within us (mind and body)
and the perception that develops. So we sense thoughts and feelings and we
identify with those not even for once doubting its validity.
In Bhagwat Geeta, Arjun
encounters thoughts of fear or running away from war despite his illustrious
past of bravery and mastery in archery. Why does this happen? Why should such
thoughts come to one’s mind and even for him who had nothing to fear? This is
an indication that thoughts can consume anybody unawares and situation cannot
stop or avoid any of the thoughts generating within one’s mind. One never knows
what lies ahead of him.
Krishna was able to gauge
immediately what has gripped Arjun’s mind (He being the Lord, so He knows what
happens everywhere) but He decides to let Arjun talk and vent everything out
and only then slowly He gives His discourse of the Geeta. Was not Krishna able
to stop the war or any of these thoughts before they arose in Arjun’s mind? No.
This means that one has to let things manifest as they would. Secondly Krishna understood
that the trigger for such thoughts in Arjun’s mind lay somewhere in the distant
past - which Arjun himself was not aware. And finally although Krishna could
sense the link of the cause of something to manifest as particular thoughts in
Arjun’s mind, He has not attempted to state this in a logical way to Arjun but
has to undertake altogether another course to
dispel off the fear that seems to have had consumed Arjun.
There are many things embedded
herein:
As human beings we do not fully
understand the effect of past events or the causes of thoughts that occur to us
in the given moment. We can perceive only a small part of the picture and to
take action on that short picture yet does not yield complete result and neither
the perception of what we see is true to act! This is so because we have yet to
learn to completely trust God for all causes. Despite us knowing all subtle
causes, we may yet have to perform appropriate action and not abstain from the
same. Even if someone told us logically what is most appropriate to be done for
us, we may not understand it or not even follow it because we may not fully
grasp the gravity of the effect of what is stated to us. Hence we have to learn
to trust the Enlightened Soul.
At times we may know subtle
things far better than the person who requires our assistance. By explaining to
him what requires to be done may not yield the result we expect. Hence we have
to say and do and demonstrate things in a way that he can understand, follow,
interpret and dispel all doubts from his mind. We can show the way, he has to
walk the path that he has created for himself. Every path is unique to oneself
but all of them lead to the same Source.
Therefore what comes in one’s mind
is to be regarded as a message from God. What happens because of our perception
or application is also to be given to God and the fruits to be accepted coming
from Him. Within us there is only trust – no defense or plan or prediction or
anything is required. We are from Him, so why worry?
Hari Om.
