Imagination and computer peripherals
How
does a computer recognize that a hardware is attached to it and how should it
‘communicate’ with the hardware device – in terms of understanding the inputs
received from it? For this, we require a software driver – a set of
instructions that the central processing unit understands or decodes so as to
recognize the attached object and to communicate with the device. WITHOUT the
instructions/ software driver, the object is useless for the CPU.
Above
concept can be related to the idea of perception. We understand any situation
or an object based on the process of perception and conception. Any external
object is ‘perceived’ by any or in combination of 5 senses – the signals from
object are soaked in by sense organs, taken to the brain centres (by nerve impulses).
The intellect identifies the object and any of the added meanings attached to
it (the perceptive signals are reviewed by the intellect to add more meanings)
and send back responsive signals -again
as nerve impulses – and therefore we respond to the object. The object, for us,
comes into existence because of this imagination process, else it would not
exist for us (for the mind). This is the
process of imagination – the way in which the external world is perceived and
the internal world is generated. This means that the external world remains
neutral. The internal world makes the external world real. Does one exist
without the other? If I see a dead person, it means the external world for that
person has ended but it nevertheless goes on, which is perceived in a different
way by me. And what is external world anyway? It doesn’t have any independent
stand – it is a combination of consciousness, forces and manifestation. So it
remains dynamic/ changing.
The
process of imagination involves components of space, time, ego, feelings,
intellect. These are forces that are acting on the consciousness or through
which, the consciousness projects itself on the manifested world. So
imagination becomes an experience, that we feel it is real and we remain attached
to it.
The
crucial question becomes – what is this force? Why does a sense of attachment
to thoughts and body get created? And what becomes of feelings and intellect?
Why are these components created or felt?
The
next set of questions to self is what are these thoughts? Why do I remain
attached to pain, suffering, sorrow, anger, frustration, anxiety, stress, time,
desires, prestige, fame, status etc.? -
all these are projections of irrational thoughts – of my own doing. They mean
unnecessary ideas of attachment to circumstances and events or situations or
people. Thus, working on thoughts is necessary so that the quality of
imagination becomes empathy based, compassionate and comprehensive. That means
many things related to attachment or identification of body and mind are
dropped and the true potential of soul is realized. Such imagination is evolved
and achieves that state of Godliness.
Thus,
each person represents a thought and the potential to be Godlike. What we are
seeing, is not a body or mind, but a projection of consciousness.
