Shadows
050222: Shree: Shadows
No matter how much things are planned and assumed,
they can completely turn out in some different manner. This is a given –
tendency of seeing many, compulsions, vibrations and with it our attachment to
do something for our survival. But all this, is the property of divinity and
hence, to curb something or to label something or to feel annoyed is not
required for our benefit. Perception is currently conditioned by mind and body
(vibrations) and hence we feel pleasure and pain. Or rather, the effort is to
streamline vibrations, which they won’t how much it is logically tried. I don’t
think that it is supposed to be considered as a “problem” to be solved. It is
to be understood and accepted as an aspect of existence and hence to also know
that existence has a spiritual, unconditional side as well. Since
change is inevitable in motion, what are we trying to resist and why? What is
fear and what is insecurity?
The mind of man is such, which it will keep on
hunting for everlasting peace. Vibrations will compel him to latch on any
externally created situations and he will not give up an ounce of his
constructs although logic may prove it otherwise. Although he may know that it
will benefit him to change, he will not and creates a situation that he will
guard ferociously against any onslaught. This creation of a stable situation
under changing motion creates burden, stress and fear. He will race against
time, he will keep discovering variables for micro planning, but it will still
slip from his fingers. More variables, more expectations of control, and more
the realization of time slipping away! If time can be sliced into pieces, then
the rate of acceleration for micro time is still greater as compared to a
situation where the variables to be controlled or perceived are far less! So if
there are fewer variables, there is no change and there is no fear.
Consciousness will therefore mean absolutely no variable, no conditions, no
cause and effects and no change. Hence consciousness becomes eternal,
unconditional and blissful.
In order that the mind perceives this state, it has
to let go off the compulsion to control and expect any fruits of actions. We do
not control anything and we are not a reality to be concerned about. Whatever
it is, it is only God as the absolute reality of existence and whatever we
perceive is stemming from that dimension. So give all the fruits of actions to
God, give up expectations, acknowledge the change, observe and be silent. There
is no purpose or expectation to be “visualized” within us and any of those
constructs of purposes or expectations do not rather define us in any way or
they are not what “we” are as spirits. We are already still and we already
exist eternally as consciousness. We think we change and we are fighting an
illusionary change. We are fighting our own shadows or trying to catch our own
shadows. It is a shadow (this manifestation) and hence since there is God, a
shadow of Him (as manifestation) will exist. But the shadow is nowhere near to
the real nature of God.
The idea is that if there is a shadow (vibration)
then there has to be a medium that creates it (non motion, blissful, eternal,
non changing God). So God is everywhere, in all things, in all situations, and
forever. He is always “new” since time or space cannot change or touch Him. This
means we need not guard the idea of permanence of motion. Change is inevitable
and it is a shadow of permanence. Everyday is filled with change and we too
keep changing – this is natural – then why do we expect things to remain
static? This is maya or the craze for demanding permanence. It is always in our
benefit to let go off things and see things in unexpected ways but we do not
budge and this is maya.
Thinking of God and motion in continuity may help
us see this situation in proper perspective. Emotions come and go, day comes
and night too, pleasure comes and pain – all changes keep happening against the
backdrop of the ever permanent consciousness. Should we be engaged with change?
Is it required? Is it required to give any of the variables any weightage? Is
it to be considered “real”? Are we real? What are we? What are vibrations?
