Concentration

Bliss is unconditional – not dependent on space or
time. Another word for Bliss is One; Existence; Non motion; Absolute Truth and
so on. This state exists and it is just there – to use the word “existence”
also does not complete the picture.
Typically we think that existence is something
where things are felt and they become visible for us. Things appear only when
they vibrate into thoughts and body. Thus our perception of existence depends
on the phenomenon of motion or vibration. This phenomenon creates “many” and
these are interdependent and keep changing. We change too and hence that seems
to affect us. All thoughts; all motion create a feeling of impermanence and we
cling to this idea and hence expect control. Permanence or impermanence is not
what I am. I am not the motion. I am only consciousness that is infinite; at
rest; ever blissful; unconditional; source of all there is. Motion is only
apparent; is deceptive; illusionary.
The journey to realize and become this state of
tranquility, therefore, has to be something that starts from the world of
motion and takes one beyond. As a unit of existence, the same source called
consciousness “appears” as motion (as a world of billion forces and forms)
depending on what kind of “vibrations” create us or define us. Vibrations lead
to thoughts and then to body and the body in return sends signals through
senses that are sieved by these vibrations and this cycle continues.
The approach is to change the vibrations that are
the cause of motion. Our mechanism is the mind and body to start this process. Mind
makes things real. The identity of our body (senses) depends on if the mind
attaches itself to the senses. Thus, the start point is not to
let these signals reach the mind. Once having done this, what remains are
vibrations around which the mind pays attention. This step itself takes a lot
of time. When the mind feels vibrations (as its property) it no longer catches
the signals of senses or the body; thus its perception of the world has
changed. Finally when it also silences the vibrations, it becomes
consciousness. When it becomes consciousness, no aspect of motion remains and
the entire world has vanished for it. What remains is consciousness.
One can hence see here that consciousness is the only
absolute, infinite, One, non motion, Truth. Whether It has changed into motion
or motion was only an apparent creation is a question that cannot be (and need
not be) solved. This medium has a property of “Maya” that makes things appear
as causes and effects - if believed to be so. Else there is no cause and effect
anywhere.
On a day to day basis, we find ourselves
desperately trying to “fix” situations and even our own character. We question “why”
for everything and become defensive many times and expect things to happen in
certain ways. All this is noise – coming from our attachment to the body. Fixing
is not the solution here. Fixing is not required as it is important to feel
that there isn’t any problem in the manner in which one exists and situations
are perceived. All is just incidental. The absolute truth appears or makes us
as a “wave” in the ocean or the “cloud” in the sky and no matter what
situations come and go, no matter what happens to people and you, no matter
what is stored in the future – one is always the Sky which never has changed.
This is to be realized. This thought needs to sink
in. This thought needs to change the nature of vibrations to make us
unconditional in intellect, love and action. Another word for this process is concentration.
