Stages in Life

130122: Shree

Motion continues as long as vibrations are entertained. Vibrations are name sake – the moment they are thought about (or for that matter any kind of motion that needs to be expressed as any kind of a force and matter) comes into existence. It is this that leads to the manifestation of space and time and cause + effects. I think through mind and body but what is all this? The mind or the body are just movements formed by vibrations. These vibrations go from extremely subtle levels to grosser levels till they take the form of “matter”. Thus the cosmos may be also considered as one continuous mass of vibrations. The force of vibrations is “outward” making consciousness express Itself as forces and forms. These keep changing. We have taken a form and this identification with this form makes us believe in requirements or compulsions or opportunities or limitations of “life”. Life is bound to change (situations, people, mind and body) since that is its nature. Why to crib about something that changes? Because we resist change. We resist change because we think our survival depends on being static. This is “Maya”. This thought itself stems from the property of the medium to vibrate from consciousness to motion. This is intrinsic property and we cannot separate ourselves from this property, for nothing really exists apart from this medium.

However, this property can take a form of motion or can also take a form of consciousness. Motion is impermanent and all the running and clinging and expressing is a part of the game. Permanence is contained in consciousness that is beyond vibrations (अव्यक्त). If I become consciousness, then no movement and manifestation exists for me. I exist without any force or form. I become permanently blissful. I become unconditional. I cannot be defined by anything or a concept or an idea or a force or a form. I am complete.

All the process of life is about becoming unconditional. Many lives are spent in not acknowledging this and to only be satisfied by what the body says or demands. Then comes a stage of rising to the ability of thinking where dilemma and contradictions are felt everywhere and one acknowledges the dynamics of motion and non motion and how to achieve control? We face a wall here and feel that we are stuck. We fear our loss of identity but we also know that this is our own illusion. The very supports that we consider in life are impermanent in nature, so how can they give us peace? Again, the search for answers takes us for more number of lives. Finally, we gain the courage to establish our focus on consciousness and starting our journey to become the One. We start to shed all our baggage and constructs and become empty and unconditional. This journey of continuous focus also takes us to more number of lives till finally, we become established in the One.

In the final becoming of consciousness, no conditions are required to be present to attain this state. Why certain journey was required, why did it take so much time, why things happen in particular ways, why certain things happen to me should not be questioned….All is God’s making and we can only surrender to His Will.
