the most fundamental need is to connect - through actions, words, thoughts, feelings and for that any activity or action or work or expression is valid. this means that "intent" of connection is important - how that expresses itself is immaterial to an extent and also important to another extent.

as human  beings and having born as motion, there is always an urge to become stable or peaceful and connect. this is very fundamental BUT it has to get expressed and tried and effort taken. this is so because motion makes us or affects us in subtle and mysterious ways inflicting dimensions that may be anything but pure love. hence the love that gets expressed is disconnected, disjointed, conditioned and perhaps compartmentalized and acting in space and time (manifested behaviour).

our role is to become silent or understand this purest love and make it alive again in us and in everything we engage with. this is our job for God. this is our way of remembering Him. Love is already there and it does not require proof of doing anything and in its purest sense this is what it means by "existence". all things about relationships, career, jobs are to be seen as a means to this end and not a props to stay alive.
