There is a great amount of inhibition or reluctance of not talking or revealing anything (which I see it in people, friends, students, relatives and so on) – that indicates too much analysis and misinterpretation of other’s feelings or thoughts. This happens because one brackets you onto something and the judgment is done. There is, I feel, no use fighting this tendency and it has its roots far more deeper and subtle than what is felt on the surface. What we are forced not to reveal – is the fear of death or being rendered redundant or thrown away or being ridiculed or being abandoned or wasted. This fear is “inner” and not outer. To accept this fear, one has to go inward and see what is happening in that world. The mind can go in any direction, and if it chooses to; it can also dive inwards.
The fear of death cannot be made explicit – but it is best to “reveal” itself when least expected. I may talk or let anyone talk, but conditions need to support the revealing process, else it cannot be commanded to come out or even offer any explanation or expected to go away! Fear (or anything that is created) needs to be observed and expressed as it is. We make a huge mistake in curtailing unpleasant things, and making petty systems of complexities that curb or are wished to wipe out and tame us! How silly is that assumption! Mind is like a forest. We are in the forest. Something will definitely keep coming. Whatever comes, we have to ‘let it come’, so that it will pass through and go. If we do not do this, it will call on many others like itself till it can become some sort of a monster. If we argue with it, it will call on many others like itself so we will be overpowered! So you see, the flow of things in the forest should continue.
If I have to talk about my home conditions, there are so many things that can cause fear – communication, or lack of, methods of engagement, uncertainty of health, personality hiccups, aging complexities, forgetfulness, paralysis of action from the other, burden of taking care, burden of balance, burden to resolve, burden of letting go, minimal verbal support, being left to fend for myself and so on……I have no rational magical answer to any of this. I also know that things wont stop at all, no matter the effort. So - is the answer in work or talk or discussion or faith or action or expression or what?!....Or letting things be as they are?!
That being said, the “approach” to this fear is also a process of engagement, acceptance, patience, faith, trust, love and so on. We may be bad at many things, the track of which I have lost completely! But the start and the end of the middle path of being in some sort of a pit, is surely becoming Divine.

You never know what you encounter and how it can be a blessing. If only we are able to receive changes not of this world; not of space and time; but from Beyond that manifest and get inherited by us; only then possibly, we can become calm as signals keep flowing ‘through’ us. Flowing is a continuous action of eruption - coming out and going in and some states that are perceived and others that aren’t but yet inform our perceptions. What is memory after all? Some students don’t even remember or can’t recall what was said yesterday. The act of recalling is more than just a literal conjuring of words or images – but some sort of value born from perception. What do ‘we’ recall – as an extension then? In recalling, there is expression and action and flowing in all directions and being steady at the centre. So any event or a thought is required to connect us to the centre, again. That is recall.
In that aspect forget the urge to control anything or make anything or create as per someone’s wishes. I say something to someone – it is said only when it has to be said – coming from eons of impressions, who knows?! Someone listens to signals coming from eons of transformations, who knows? Where is our gaze – either on the dot (me) or beyond the dot (cosmos).
Intellect creates a lot of noise. We come with some noise and impose it on existence. The existence suggests something but we only hear it from whatever can reinforce our noise! We are full of words, sentences, meanings, actions, solutions, questions, fixations, defences, confirmations! Why would things change for the better if everyone happens to be so full?!
Let go off this fullness of noise. Let it go and let it not define anything about you or existence. Noise is mere stupidity. Things change when they need to. They come when they should and they will go, when they should.

Two thoughts
First-
What is smart associated with nowadays?
Judging by the manner of process and products conceived out of this idea, smart seems to suggest over reliance on technology or over dependence on technology to the point of subletting our senses and judgment capacities – which means a smart process is such that it forces one to rely on technical input-output and with zero capacity of awareness of the individual – this means extreme amounts of anxiety, extreme inversion, extreme loneliness, extreme fragmentation, extreme disconnect of the individual! We can see that in relationships, over planning, over compartmentalization, over anxiety, over micro planning, over perfection, over sterilization, over apathy and so on.
This also has repercussions on architecture – streetscape (or the “lack off”); gated communities; ghettos of self; dead corridors; lack of in between spaces; over emphasis on surveillance and cctvs; over demand of “purposeful” spaces and so on.
Secondly as I go through the city – what do we see or feel on the roads? Miles and miles of concrete and cars and pavements with our urge to reach a place or to hop on from one enclosure to another. One can call home as a cave, the shop as a cave or a movie theatre as another cave. In between any two caves, there is no need to wait or linger or interact (as it sems to be “wild”)! So a city seems to become a collection of “different caves” with lines expressing mobile connects!
Second -
As a historical idea, then what do we mean by a community? And how do processes of design and spatial organization took place? What was an idea and how many subtle things of environment were taken into account? What was the awareness? Was it individual or collective or something else? Why was there a role of mythology, ancestors, environment in the imagination of creation of spaces? Therefore what was architecture then? Then were these people ‘smart’ by above definition or ‘dumb’?!
Can we relook at the state of architecture we seem to create or endorse or talk about or express…etc.?
Feel free to share. Your friendly neighbour.

Today’s environment is of extreme pace. Psychologically that has caused fragmentation and chaos and hence more means of achieving control or surveillance. But that brings or makes disconnection more apparent and hence more inventions to fill the gaps further leading to an isolated being. The individual gets too much caught up manging disparate signals, sequences, changes and the idea of work itself and how that can affect output. Ironically, more dense and complex a system, more difficult it is to initiate any meaningful change. So motion, becomes a sort of a paralysis or a resistance to transformation of the self.
The genesis of this attitude lies in fear or separation or vibrations that take on different forms. To make a form “perfect” the mind tries to compartmentalize the form and make it independent – at the cost of disconnecting it from all connections. The phenomenon of manifestation is by consciousness that causes connections and forms – hence by the fundamental nature, it is always One and connected. We cling on to our forms of becoming or of characterising and complain about changes, their nature and pace. So the approach is to “surrender” and give everything back to consciousness.

To dwell and to orient requires one to know one’s place in existence and imagination. For this, we require some form of “geometry” or a form making process. That may take several shapes or structures such as art, word, craft, activity or architecture or the combination and relationship of all. It is a need to “express” as some form – a need to generate a form that affirms one’s place. And If one understands this, then the action of architecture would get much closer to this purpose, I feel. Therefore a sense of movement, change, use, utility, light, voids, composition, structure, environment, presences, encounters, waiting, movement, transitions, hierarchies, connections would then seem to affirm that purpose, if deployed wisely. I require a “geometry” - the “plan” so that “frames” help me orient my existence and the sense of being and all the imagination that I express from connections to environment. The “plan” is a “frame” of dwelling and with it, our relationship to cosmos (and all layers of memory) gets established.

Shree: Pattern
Shree: Pattern
I am a pattern. ‘I” indicates a pattern to which I cling.
Patterns are always existing - they are perceived, revealed, encountered, expressed, interpreted and acted upon. They are above human forms or any manifested forms and they make forms. So patterns are perennially existing. The most subtle pattern is that of Existence.
In its behaviour or manifestation, a pattern is a vibration in consciousness that starts to connect with many variables and generates a sequence leading to some perceptible form - either as a thought or a situation or an object. Hence pattern only “is” that manifests into anything.
Awareness is also a pattern. Depending on its nature, extent, scope, potential, ability, one perceives reality either as “life” or as consciousness. Depending on its outcome, effects, causes, one perceives and clings to change or detaches from it.
Causal thinking is also a pattern that leads to some perception and situations. It generates certain disturbing feelings of impermanence, fear, anger, pain and so on. Non causal subtle thinking is also a pattern that generates unconditional bliss.
So a pattern can change itself, refine itself, become more subtle and become blissful.
What pattern are you?
