Shree: traditions continued
i would like to continue expressing things about traditions. as human beings there is a feel of a constant that spreads or anchors all changing experiences or vibrations across various time scales and spaces. memory has a strong aspect within this and perhaps by memory, activities or actions, feelings, connections we make ourselves at 'home'. space and time are meaningless without some reference point that is shared or felt by all forms that come from consciousness. so we are referring to a "pattern" or the nature of consciousness. hence what objects mean, what clothes mean, what anything of space and time mean is loaded with profound long term meanings, perhaps so subtle that they cannot (and perhaps need not) be articulated or made explicit. anything that becomes explicit "changes faster" and hence a lot of subtle and mysterious things are invisible although they affect us to the core. the presence of this dimension of traditions and their expressions onto space is extremely necessary for keeping us grounded.
the related approach to living therefore is: always do good. and the idea of goodness cannot be dependent on the "now" or any expressible thing or any conditions or separations or compartments or exaggerations. by repeatedly doing good, all vibrations become calmer till only the Good remains. there is no differentiation between 'me' or 'you' and to think of it itself is a problem from which to perceive reality.
another related dimension of above paragraph is wrong emphasis on intellect to differentiate and fragment long term shared wisdom till it kills itself! i think the definition of "self conscious" means emphasis on intellectual pursuit or intellectual worldview and this presents a problem of its own. sense of loss (and therefore absolute control and loudness at any cost), aggression, proof, justification, evaluation, identity, differentiation, inability to accept change and hence emphasis on freezing everything are pitfalls of going towards the intellect and what that results is self harm.
in the 'Search for a Form' Eliel Saarinen contemplates meaning of Form moving from subconscious to conscious to self conscious layers of the mind. each of this movement has brought a change in the nature of built environment and internal personal relationships.
lastly vibrations are subtle enough that they affect s even without our knowledge. these require acknowledgment and perhaps some approach of actions acknowledges a place of such subtle vibrations in our lives.
thus the inquiry is: what is the nature of our journey when we dwell a humans?
